My Reunion Double Pages

For the background of these double pages I used wave 12x12 " cardboard. It always be may most favourite one because the wave, texture and colour seem so perfect for me. At the beginning of my work, I was a little bit in doubt how I was going ti mix the colour. The Marche Restaurant is so country style, and I didn't have any papers match with my theme. Fortunately I brought a brochure and loyalty card from it, so it began easier for me to get the colour harmony. I choosed "After years" title here coz I hadn't met my friends here for very long time, most of them I hadn't met for 10 years. So the fasting break this year became kind of sweet small reunion. Great time, great place, great layout for pages for me ...

My Ramadhan Journal

This idea suddenly came into my head when I was in the middle of cleaning up my scrapbooking stuff last week. As I mention on my status, I had a new tiny cabinet I planned to put all these goodies inside. When I saw my bulk of stuff could not all went into the new cabinet, then I thought of why not making these scraps into sweet ramadhan journal? Yeah, yeah, yeah ... good idea! I could take pictures and writing something during my ramadhan period this year. I'll make the Eid Mubarrak this time become the ending journal.

I'll show you one of my pictures here, and wait what I can make best for this Ramadhan Journal.
Happy Ramadhan e'body! :D

Can you see the cat on my head, bunda?

At the first day of her school after a week of absent - she got influenza together with her big brother and lost almost 2kgs of her weight - she had a new school bag. Yesss, her old bag was her brother's Barney bag, so I could say the it is her first one. How happy she was when she made a cat headband from paper @ school. Many times she ask me " Can you see the cat, bunda?" Yes, dear, I can see a sparkling in your eyes. There's no more happiness for me rather than seeing her in a healthy condition and enjoy her creativity...

Happy B'day, Ayah ... we love you very much, always.

As you see below, I made the LO for my dearest uncle and auntie. I 've been seeing how they are always be together in their easy and hard life, how they support each other, take care each other, and respect each other. This is my sweetest gift for their love.

The Most Beautiful Trip Is Going Home

Although this time I only had less than a week to stay in my hometown Yogyakarta, but I was satissfied could visit my mom's grave at the last day of my stay.

My children also played hard with their cousins from day till late night. I could chat a lot with my one and only sister, talk about our husbands, our children and our dreams. Seeing my father in a good health was the greatest gift of my coming home. Especially when watching my father playing with all of his grandchildren since it become a rare occasion for him.

In the middle of my staying, unexpected, my best friend Laras called me to ask a small reunion among girlsfriends from elementry school. So, I met two moms and one wife who were my playmates and are now keep living in Yogya. Whatta a lovely reunion. Alhamdulillah, Ya Allah, You give me a chance to meet great and wonderful women with their own stories. Stories about struggling life. Stories that keep me saying thankful words to You. Grateful to our life, with all its weakness and strengths. Cherish every moment. Way to go, girls!

An advice

This advice came from a traditional African prayer is so touching my heart, and I want to share with you all. Hopefully we can teach each of the value inside to our children and act them everyday in our life ...
Let us take care of the children,
for they have a long way to go.
Let us take care of the elders,
for they have come a long way.
Let us take care of those in between,
for they are doing the work.

My wishes 2 my B'day Daughter

For attractive lips,

speak words of kindness.

For lovely eyes,

seek out the good in people.

For a slim figure,

share your food with the hungry.

For beautiful hair,

let a child run his fingers through it once a day.

For poise,

walk with the knowledge you never walk alone.

Just want to share my other old LOs

Here, I’ll show you my two LOs which actually I made about a year ago. Since 12”x12” become my most comfortable size ever, I never want to try smaller one, now I had to deal with 2 unique shapes of paper.
The first page, yes the blue monochrome one, I still tried to complete with 12”x12” paper coz I was not confident enough. I ‘ll tell you a story behind the photograph I used here. Actually that one took by my cousin in 2006, on Eid Mubarrak Day but she just gave it to me about two years later. Since the photograph pictured my son with his two cousins Zaki & Tisya in their wide smile and Moslem clothes, together with the fact that it became our first Eid Mubarrak without my Mama after her death of cancer, I pushed my self to make it into a scrapbooking page soon. I was so sure the title reflected my son and his cousin’s smile would be their granpa’s joy after his biggest lost.

In the second page, I still use monochrome style of brown. I made the photo in sephia, so it would look in harmony with the brown background. In that photo my son just ate chocolate bar, so you can see that his lips look like using a lipstick. Almost embellishments I cut from pattern paper, except the chipboard corner & aluminium cloth clip I bought in Daiso - 20 pieces in 1 pack ony for Rp 20.000,-

I made this LO for 3 days!

... just like I said, my brain is moving faster than my hands!
I was inspired of what my dear friend Ria Nirwana did on her latest LO, and then I tried to make a sketch from it, and create my own version page.

When I miss my father ...

A little boy was having difficulty lifting a heavy stone.
His father came along just then.
Noting the boy’s failure, he asked,
"Are you using all your strength?"
"Yes, I am," the little boy said impatiently.
"No, you are not," the father answered.
"I am right here just waiting, and you haven’t asked me to help you."
